Lekki Conservation Centre
About this place
Lekki Conservation Centre is a 78-hectare nature reserve along the Lekki Peninsula, offering a peaceful escape from the energy and bustle of Lagos. Managed by the Nigerian Conservation Foundation, the centre protects a rich stretch of tropical vegetation and wetlands within one of the city’s fastest-growing areas. It’s a great spot to slow down, explore nature, and experience a quieter side of Lagos without leaving the city.
The centre is best known for its iconic canopy walkway, which takes visitors above the forest and offers a unique perspective of the surrounding greenery. Visitors can also explore the nature trails, spot monkeys and different bird species, take photographs, and enjoy the natural environment at their own pace. The experience is less about rushing from one attraction to another and more about getting outside, walking through the forest, and reconnecting with nature.
Whether you’re looking for a relaxed weekend activity, a family-friendly outing, a photography location, or simply somewhere different to spend a few hours, Lekki Conservation Centre is worth adding to your Lagos plans. It offers a refreshing contrast to the city’s restaurants, beaches, nightlife, and busy streets — making it one of the places where you can genuinely step away from the usual Lagos rhythm and go a little more Outsyde.
